Listen to your Instincts!

Instincts are an important part of animals. Humans often ignore their instincts, but us dogs know sometimes it is best to trust your instincts. Here is an example. I knew the minute I walked by the shed door that some critter was inside. If I only knew how to open the door I could have proved I was right. Humans need to listen to their instincts more!

Live in the moment!

Each day is a gift. The object to living is to live as much in the moment as you can. We dogs, understand this and have evolved into the perfect live in the moment creatures. Today, try to live in the moment for just a moment. Feel the breeze, smell the flowers and enjoy the ones you love!

Friendship is Important!

No matter what you do in life, your friends are one of the most important things to keep close to you. Cultivate them, honor them and most of all keep them!

Keep your eye on the prize!

I find keeping my eye on the prize goes a long way towards helping me reach my goal! Remember focus on what you want to accomplish and, with any luck , your wish will come true.

Remember to say thanks!

Sometimes we forget common courtesy. It pays to say thanks to those that do nice things for us. Here I am on vacation, how many of us get to go on most vacations with our humans, so I am letting the mister know how much I appreciate him bringing me along!

Safety First!

While many might think I look like a doofus in my life vest, I always say safety first! It is easy to swim in the vest and it does keep me safe. Notice the lady isn't wearing her vest, tisk, tisk, tisk! Her excuse was that she needed it for me to sit on so I wouldnt scratch her legs when I tried to leap off the kayak to get the seals!

Educating Earth Dogs!

Terriers are Earth Dogs. We love to dig, hunt and go to ground. I personally prefer the soft sand for my digging , but any field will do. In the earthdog box is a Bedlington Terrier. He has found his way through the maze to locate the rat safely hiding in the cage.
If your instinct says go for it, then by all means go for it!

HIt the Road Jack!

Summer is the time for travel. Now is the time for your humans to make sure they are doing their job and protecting you in the car.
When they have to slam on the brakes, we can become projectiles in the car. Many dogs are killed every year because they are not restrained in the car. Buckle up for safety applies to us canines too, but you humans have to step up to the bat and protect us!

Way to hang ten !

I wish this was me on the board but frankly a little more practice is needed for me to actually hang ten. I would give it a try if I lived near a beach!

Chill out!

I think humans need to learn to relax more. their lives are so busy that even when they have time to stop, they often find something else to do.
They need to take a lesson from us dogs, we know when to chill out. So take a chill pill and try to enjoy the day!

Ask and you might recieve!

I have found , that asking nicely sometimes gets great results. At this bakery I had a hard time making up my mind, so in the end I let the nice owner pick out my treat!

Every dog's wish!

If wishes came true, everyone of us dogs would wish for this fire hydrant that is in Columbia ,SC. If you note tho, there is an obnoxious sign at the bottom of the hydrant. I think this is one of those times us dogs will just have to break the rules!

Go hard or go home!

When swimming, or any activity for that matter, I find the only way to participate is to go hard, or go home!

Hide and Seek!

Hot days means indoor games for me. My humans like to play hide and seek. The silly things hide, I spend some time acting like I have no idea of where they are. When I find them, they give me a treat! Try it , you just might like this game.

One way to cool down when it is hot!

If a pool isn't handy on these hot days, do the next best thing, eat some ice cream. While you should always eat right, a little ice cream is good for the soul! Me, I am a fan of the dreamsicles.

Choose your Friends Wisely!

I choose my friends wisely but I must admit sometimes it helps if they own a pool! Having a friend with a pool is very handy, especially this summer with all the heat!

Know your limits!

Here is my friend , Spree , an English Springer Spaniel. His breed is bred for bird hunting. He is very tolerant of the family bird, but that is because he knows his limit. Notice the bird IS still in a cage.
Know your limits, it helps make life run smoothly!

Find a good bed!

Aahhhhh! Nothing like a soft bed at the end of the day, or in the middle of the day if you are lucky enough ot be a dog . I often hear humans complain about their beds. Do like us dogs and check several out before you settle on one, it might just help you get a good night's sleep!

Just run!

Sometimes you need to just run, run as fast as you can. If you run fast enough and hard enough, your humans will think you couldn't hear them calling for the wind in your ears!

Hot Summer Fun!

When the weather is hot and muggy, spend the time indoors learning new tricks. Trick training exercises not only your mind but your body as well. Here I am learning to crawl.
